Kids' Bath Remodel 2019
Here's a quick peek at some of the items we've purchased for the remodel.
Starting with the bottom left photo and working up and across, I'll do my best to describe each item:
The floor tile was our first purchase. While shopping at Home Depot for something completely unrelated, I spied a pile of 12 x 24 inch porcelain tiles in a soft taupe, gray and white. Although I hate tile/grout, at 99 cents a sqft, we could not pass up the deal. The linen closet will be outfitted with Ikea Sektion cabinets in Bodbyn Gray. We plan to reuse two of the shelves from the original closet to add some open storage between the towering glass cabinets. We need to cut down the length and depth from 71 x 19 inches to roughly 30 x 15 inches. This better go smoothly or we'll be shopping for shelving. We decided on a deep soaking whirlpool tub. I just might need a floaty in this 18 inch luxury tub. I know it doesn't sound deep, but trust me, we are DOUBLING the soaking depth in here. Hopefully, we'll avoid mold and mildew in the jets and water lines. EWW! The tub/shower surround is from Flexstone in the pattern and color Frost. We're adding a second corner shelf and an 11" square niche. Wish us luck on everything lining up correctly. Measure twice... The 72" vanity gets upgraded with 2 under mount sinks, cultured stone top, tip out drawers and a pull out shelf with integrated power bar and hot hair tool storage. https://www.costco.com/Lakeview-72%22-Vanity-by-OVE.product.100459027.html We are still on the hunt for a shower head and faucets for tub and sinks, mirrors and maybe a wall cabinet between the mirrors. There are way too many choices!!
Now we have to get back to the exciting task of mirror and tile removal, plumbing and electrical upgrades, drywall and subfloor repair.
